How an Inkjet Printhead Works
The Printhead is essentially the heart of the 4, 5 and 6 ink-cartridge printing system. While the ink cartridges, or tanks, merely hold the ink, it is the electronic printhead which is responsible for firing the ink drops onto the page – not the ink cartridges/tanks!

Severe Print Quality Issues / Missing Colors
If, after adhering to all suggestions provided under ‘Solve My Problem’, your printer continues to exhibit degraded image quality and/or multiple colors are missing, as observed in the printer’s self test page or print quality report, you many need to perform a water flush of the printhead:
